Stocks made a valiant effort to recover some of yesterday’s sharp losses, but the market could only manage a mixed session on Tuesday as investors wait to hear what the Fed has to say.The Dow soared more than 300 points at it best today, but the index ultimately slipped 0.15% (or about 50 points) to 33,919.84.
