SEC Taps Dan Berkovitz to Serve as General Counsel

WASHINGTON—The Securities and Exchange Commission said it has hired a former aide to Chairman Gary Gensler to serve as its top legal officer.
Dan Berkovitz, who announced plans earlier this month to leave his role as a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, will join the SEC as general counsel on Nov. 1, the agency said in a news release.
