Scientists propose long Covid definition based on key symptoms in large study

South_agency | E+ | Getty ImagesScientists funded by the federal government have proposed a definition of long Covid based on symptoms identified in a large study published Thursday in the Journal of the American Medical Association.The definition is based on 12 symptoms that most separate people with long Covid six months or more after their infection from people who did not have the coronavirus.Since the very early days of the pandemic, many people have suffered myriad sometimes debilitating symptoms that persist long after they were infected with Covid-19.Patients adopted the name long Covid.
