AI Companies, Labs & Research Institutions is a directory of the organisations that build and study artificial intelligence — frontier model developers, the hosts and curators of open-weight models, and public, university and non-profit research institutions — each linked to the page where that organisation publishes its own research, model documentation or data.
This directory records what each organisation publishes and where. It does not rank them, rate them, compare them, or assess the quality of their work. Every entry names the organisation, links to its own page, and records when that link was verified.
Inclusion here means an organisation publishes research, model documentation or data that this field relies on, and that we could verify the page on the organisation's own domain. It is not an endorsement, a ranking, or a judgement about any organisation's technology, safety or conduct.

Each row links the organisation's own publication surface, and says what it publishes — never how it performs.
Anthropic — Research
Anthropic's research page, listing its dated research publications and posts across the areas it names, including alignment, interpretability, societal impacts and its frontier red team.
OpenAI — Research index
OpenAI's research index, listing its dated entries under labels including Publication, Release, Milestone and Safety, and linking the system cards it publishes for its models.

Google DeepMind's publications listing, presenting its research papers in reverse-chronological order with dates and titles.
Meta — AI research
Meta's AI research index, linking its model announcements, downloadable models, and the safety and preparedness reports it publishes alongside them.
Microsoft Research — Artificial Intelligence research area
Microsoft Research's artificial-intelligence area page, which indexes its AI publications, projects, videos and blog posts with filters by type, author, lab and date.

EleutherAI — Artifacts
A non-profit research organisation's index of the models, libraries, datasets and datasheets it has released, including the GPT-NeoX and Pythia model families, the LM Evaluation Harness, and the datasheet for the Pile.
Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) — Olmo
Ai2's page for its Olmo language model family, which the institute describes as releasing the full model flow — weights and checkpoints, pretraining, mid-training and post-training data, training code and evaluation tooling — rather than weights alone.
LAION — Projects
A non-profit organisation's index of the image-text datasets, models and tooling it has published, including the LAION image-text dataset series, OpenCLIP, CLAP, img2dataset and CLIP Benchmark.
BigCode
An open scientific collaboration on large language models for code, which publishes its governance documents, datasets and model releases through its own site and its Hugging Face organisation.

The UK's national institute for data science and artificial intelligence, publishing research papers, policy submissions to government bodies, free online courses and a data science and AI glossary.
ELLIS — European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems
A pan-European network of AI research sites that publishes an annual report and cross-network research output and coordinates cross-border research programmes and PhD and postdoctoral training in machine learning.
Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems
A Max Planck Society institute at Stuttgart and Tübingen researching perception, learning and action in intelligent systems, covering machine learning, computer vision, robotics and societal aspects of artificial intelligence.
Mila — Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute
A Montreal-based non-profit AI research institute formed through a collaboration of Université de Montréal and McGill University with other Quebec universities, publishing machine learning research under an open science approach alongside impact reports and AI policy work.
Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence
A Toronto-based independent not-for-profit corporation that publishes machine learning and AI safety research, open-source tools and applied case studies.

A Georgetown University policy research centre that publishes reports, policy briefs, data visualisations, data snapshots and translations on the security implications of artificial intelligence, advanced computing and biotechnology.
AI Now Institute
A research institute that publishes landscape reports on the AI market, research briefs, policy toolkits and testimony submitted to legislative bodies on AI policy.
How this directory is maintained
- Every entry links to a page on the organisation's own domain — its research index, model documentation or data portal — not to coverage of it.
- Descriptions say what an organisation publishes. They carry no evaluative language, and this page contains no ranking, rating or comparison of any kind.
- Company and product names change. Each entry records the date its link and the organisation's own naming were last verified, and names are taken from the organisation's current first-party branding.
- Figures that drift — model counts, headcounts, valuations, funding — are deliberately not recorded here.
- Several of these organisations block automated requests, so their pages are verified by loading them rather than by a status code.
How is an organisation chosen for this directory?
An organisation appears here if it publishes AI research, model documentation or data that the field relies on, and if that publication surface could be verified on the organisation's own domain.
That is a test of what an organisation publishes and where, not of how good it is. This directory contains no ranking, rating or comparison, and inclusion implies no endorsement of any organisation's technology, safety practices or conduct. Where an organisation's own naming has changed, the current first-party name is used and the former name is noted where a document was published under it.
