The Islamic Society of Wichita Falls was established in 1996 by Abdullah Shamsid-Deen, his wife, and a few Muslim students and families in Wichita Falls, intending initially to secure an adequate place to pray together as a community.

The changing landscape of religion in the United States of America requires new ways of understanding Muslim communities and fostering Muslim American identity. To this end, the Islamic Society of Wichita Falls facilitates educational opportunities, fosters productive partnerships, and organizes spiritual and social engagement in Muslim communities.
