Oriental Land

Starting with reclamation work off the coast of Urayasu and followed by negotiations to acquire the necessary licensing, we opened Tokyo Disneyland in 1983. It was the first Disney theme park outside of the United States. Subsequently in 2001, we opened Tokyo DisneySea, the only Disney park in the world with a sea theme. Around the same time, we opened Disney-branded hotels, a shopping complex, and a monorail system, thus expanding the Maihama area from a theme park to a Disney-themed resort.

Currently, the two theme parks welcome a total of over 30 million guests every year.
Our corporate mission has always been to provide “dreams, moving experiences, happiness, and contentment” with “original, imaginative ideas” as the driving force, and this will remain the same in the future.

With the purpose of enriching hearts and energizing people through our business, we will maintain a customer perspective and accommodate the changes taking place in the environment outside the company, such as the diversification of values, shifts in lifestyles, and the declining population.

Our company is committed to achieving the next Medium-Term Plan goal of consistently attracting 30 million guests per year by fiscal 2020 to our two core theme parks, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. In addition to the major development of new areas and large-scale attractions, we will strive to enhance our human capital by further improving the hospitality of our employees, and will work together as a group to create new value.

In our industry, it is often said that theme parks are never complete. Accordingly, our challenges have no limits, and the final form of a theme park simply does not exist. The Oriental Land Group will continue to seek new challenges so that we can provide “dreams, moving experiences, happiness, and contentment,” even in 50 or 100 years, and provide smiles to as many people as possible.
