SWIPE! We gathered some best practices for that #WFH life and want to share them with you.
.) Design Your Space - Carve out a dedicated space that you only use for work. Preferably with natural light and a door, so you can separate your work from your home life when the workday is done. Creating a separate and exclusive space is also tax deductible!
.) Project Professionalism - Dress as if you were still working in someone else's office. If you're doing video calls, consider having a clean dedicated area for them, or at least hanging a backdrop so people aren't distracted by home-office clutter.
.) Manage Your Distractions - One winning strategy is simply to accept that you'll never be 100% productive. That makes it easier to be in control of your "mind-wandering" time at work, and keep it under control.
.) Give Yourself Routine - The sooner you set parameters for the working day the better. Know where you’re going to work: this might change from morning to evening depending on how light shifts around your home office – let’s call it a "hoffice." Make sure you’re at the desk by a set time and embrace getting up early.
.) Prioritize: Write a To Do list - To Do lists sound like they were invented by a cruel master, but they’re the key to self-motivation! This is your list and the summation of the day you’ve decided you’d like to have. Take ten minutes before you sleep every night to make the next day’s list – give yourself something to be excited about.
