THE ABOUT LIVING JOURNEY STARTED IN 2006 WHEN OWNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR GARY HOGAN FOUND A DEFICIENCY IN THE WEST OF SCOTLAND’S MARKET FOR A CURATE RANGE OF INSPIRED HOMEWARE & GIFTS.
October 2006 saw the opening of the first store. The website is undergoing its most significant makeover to date, nearly 16 years later, with the introduction of more than 40 new brand names and categories, consisting of furniture, lighting, and upscale family pet accessories.
Gary began his career in retail after working behind the scenes in movies and television. Given that he was increased in a family members organization, it was just a matter of time till he chose to adhere to in his daddy’s footsteps and open his very own business. Gary continues to lead the firm’s purchasing division with a sharp eye for the newest styles and products.
The brands that About Living carries is always expanding, and we are thrilled to welcome some new brands to the family, such as Baobab Collection, Blomus, Jonathan Adler, Menu, Noble Isle, Native Union, and Ortigia Sicilia.

We draw inspiration from emerging global interior and gift concepts. We are always investigating emerging trends that emerge from the most recent interior design shows and fashion runways. Our buyers trip across the globe to source our current collections and cultivate connections with our brand associates. This season’s botanical motifs, which integrate exotic succulents with vibrant colours, and the underrated elegance of marble and rock indoor accents are both highly appealing to us.
