Alberta Investment Management

Alberta Investment Management is an investment manager based in Edmonton, Canada and was formed on January 1, 2008. The firm provides investment management services to pensions, endowments and government funds in the Province of Alberta. It forms a part of the ministry of finance and enterprise. The pension fund meets the retirement income need of nearly 310,000 active and retired public sector employees. In 2012, these funds paid out nearly $1.3 billion in pension payments, refunds and transfers to other plans.
