Russia said on Tuesday that high-level discussions with the United States this week will demonstrate Washington’s “seriousness” in pursuing real conversation with Moscow.
In a new attempt to promote stability in the strained relationship, the two countries will meet on Wednesday in Geneva, where Presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin met last month.
The discussions would allow Moscow to “see how serious their U.S. colleagues’ attitude is in terms of creating a concentrated, dynamic conversation in strategic stability,” according to Russian news media.
At the Biden-Putin conference, the so-called Strategic Stability Dialogue was established.
