Meet our founders
Stephen herniated two discs in his back while rowing in college. So when he and Kabeer teamed up at Wharton to start Burrow, Stephen made sure that their couches would be ergonomically perfect for multi-hour Netflix binges. From his hair to his shoes, Kabeer pays close attention to style, and insisted that Burrow sofas be equally as fashionable. Kabeer is often ashamed to be seen with his co-founder in public.
People today demand more from the things they spend money on, and we’re refreshing the furniture company model to meet that demand. Beginning with a smarter, innovative design, we’re producing high-quality furniture and creating a better experience, all for less money.
Design
We left no stones unturned in the design research phase of creating the Burrow sofa. Every single aspect is inspired by finding a solution to a common problem: it’s modular to make it easy to ship and move, it’s durable because life is unpredictable and messy, and it has a USB charger because the sofa always blocks the outlet on the wall.
Testing
Our sofas go through a grueling series of tests to make sure they last for years to come. We test sturdiness by dropping a 300-pound weight on it thousands of times, we test stain-fastness by spilling red wine and spaghetti sauce, and we test scratch resistance with a custom 3D-printed animal claw. We wouldn’t settle for anything less.
